Ramona Martin

Ramona Knight Rowley Martin, age 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at St. Mary's Care Center surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 19, 1933 to Silas and Florence (Johnson) Rowley in Ashland WI. While visiting family in Madison, Ramona met the love of her life, John Martin. They were united in marriage on July 18, 1953.

In addition to being a homemaker, Ramona worked for the State of Wisconsin for a number of years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and took an interest in learning about history. She especially enjoyed sharing family stories, gardening, cooking, board games and her beloved dogs. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family; Ramona loved being a grandma, mom, wife, and sister.

Ramona is survived by her husband, John; children, John (Saowanee Heding) Martin, Daniel (Julia) Martin, Michael (Kathy) Martin; grandchildren, Andrew (Mari) Martin, Cristina Martin, Nicole Martin, Paige Martin; sister, Norma (Jerry) Kamenick; special cousin, Lois Hammond; aunt, Eleanor Rowley; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; and one sister.

Private family services are being held. A special thanks to the staff of Agrace HospiceCare and St. Mary's Care Center.
