Ray Allen Rahn

Ray Allen Rahn was born on May 28, 1970, in Waupun, WI to the late Robert and Betty Pritchard.  Immediately, after his birth Ray was adopted by his grandparents Harold and Marie Rahn. 

Ray graduated from Dodgeland High School in Juneau, WI in 1989.  Ray was employed by SSM Health for many years as an Office Assistant-Intermediate.  While employed at SSM Health Ray made a lot of great and strong friendships with his co-workers. Ray was also employed for a number a years by Beans and Cream Coffee House located in Sun Prairie. Ray loved working there so very much.  One of the reasons Ray loved working there so much was because of the owner Jeff Gauger, who was not only Ray’s boss but more importantly became an incredibly good friend to Ray over the years.  Ray also established strong and cherished friendships with fellow staff and clientele at Beans and Cream.

In 1993 Ray met the love of his life, Michael Chapman.  They received a certificate of union in 2002 with a ceremony at Plymouth Congressional Church in Madison.  In May of 2016 when same-sex marriages became legal in the state of Wisconsin, Ray and Michael tied the knot, making their committed love to one another legally official.

Ray loved to play the lottery.  He always believed he was going to eventually “hit the big one” someday.  Ray also loved cooking and was an amazing chef, especially with anything in the crockpot, those were his favorites.  Ray loved to color in books and using his colored pencils he created some vibrant and fantastic pieces.  Most of all Ray loved all the doggies that he had the chance to share his life with both past and present, which included: Baby; Samson; Molly; Pugsly; BJ; Lucy and Murphy.

Ray is survived by his loving husband Michael.  Ray is also survived by brothers and a sister on the Pritchard side of his family that includes Ron, Rick, Bob along with a sister Roxanne. In addition, Ray is also survived by brothers and sisters on the Rahn side of his family that includes Kevin, Larry, Harold, Ross along with sisters Joyce, Bonita, Natalie and Donna.

The family of Ray would like to thank the staff at SSM Health Oncology Department for their kind care for Ray and the family would also like to thank the Sun Prairie Police Department and EMS for their help.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday June 24, 2023, at Cress Funeral & Cremation Service in Sun Prairie. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
