COTTAGE GROVE-Raymond T. "Ray" Jackson passed away peacefully on May 12, 2015, surrounded by friends and family. He was born in Newark, Ohio on April 29, 1948, son of William Theron "Jack" and Mildred (Herendeen) Jackson. Ray was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Russum on Nov. 29, 1986, in Middleton. He graduated from Newark High School in 1966, followed by Ohio Wesleyan University in 1970, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa honorary. Ray earned master's degrees from UW-Madison in both mathematics and computer science. He worked as an independent software consultant, including many years at Laboratory Consulting, Inc. (LCI) Ray enjoyed the Madison Sports Car Club (MSCC) and was actively involved for 40 years serving on the board for 30 years. He also was a member of the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Club (MCSCC). He loved problem solving, whether it was fixing cars or building software solutions.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Bonnie; son, Kyle (fianc�e, Jenny); brother, Ron (Pat) Jackson; and sister, Mary Ellen (Bruce) Guiler. He also leaves behind many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law.
A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terr., Sun Prairie at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to give special thanks to Gilda's Club and the UW Carbone Cancer Center. Memorials may be made to the family.
