Madison-Regina Byam, age 95, died Tuesday evening July 12, 2011 at Capital Lakes Health Center. Regina was born September 15, 1915 in Trauchgau, Germany. She left Germany in 1949 and lived in London for a year before moving to Milwaukee. Regina married Lewis Byam and was blessed with a daughter. She moved to Madison in 2004 to be closer to her family. Regina enjoyed and shared with family her love for cooking, her artwork and beautiful paintings and her love of classical music. She was especially fond of her grandchildren and spent much time with them as they grew. We will miss her humor and caring spirit.
Regina is survived by her sister Leni, daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia (William) Brauer and grandchildren Laura, Andrea and John Brauer, nieces and nephews in Wisconsin and Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at ST. PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH, 404 E. Main St., Madison. Monsignor Kevin Holmes will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI.
