Rev. Russell

Rev. Claude Cullom Russell, Sr. was born December 31, 1932 in Warren, Arkansas, to the union of Albert and Allie Mae Russell. Rev. Russell's mom and dad preceded him in death. Seven of his brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death. He received a formal education in Warren, Arkansas. Rev. Russell enlisted in the United States Armed Forces on February 6, 1951, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He received an Honorable discharge from the Army in 1954. Rev. Russell was the proud father of eight children. He came to Chicago in 1955.
Rev. Russell accepted Christ in 1956 at the Good Shepherd M.B.C., under the leadership of Rev. Samuel L. Jackson. He became an ordained minister and was chosen to be the Pastor after Rev. Jackson was deceased. Rev. Russell reorganized at another location, and the church was called, The Pillar of Truth M.B.C. Rev. Russell went to law school and obtained a degree as a undercover private detective. He worked at Morgan Park High School as a Teacher Assistant, and assisted the coach with the school's varsity basketball team. Rev. Russell coached the Shi-Town Giants at Ada Park. He also pastored at Church of the Living God in Andalusia, Alabama, and then relocated to Wisconsin. Rev. Russell received his truck driving license and became a truck driver. He became a member of Christ the Solid Rock M.B.C. in Madison, where he was an Associate Minister.

Rev. Claude Cullom Russell, Sr. went home to glory on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 7:40 a.m. He Leaves to mourn, Claude (LaFaye), Ramona (Cleveland), Albertine, Robert, Franzetta, Roechelle(Anthony), Scott(Tamala). His son Albert preceded him in death. Rev. Russell also leaves to mourn, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
