Richard Bevan

January 25, 1937 — February 25, 2014

Madison- Richard John Bevan age 77 passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on January 25, 1937 in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, the son of Arthur and Alberta (Lane) Bevan. Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country from 1956 to 1960. On October 18, 1958 Richard was united in marriage to Frances Kelly in Madison. Together they raised two beautiful children. Richard worked for over 29 years at National Electrostatic Corporation as a journey man machinist until his retirement. In his spare time he thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and playing euchre.
Richard is survived by his two sons; Arthur Bevan of Madison and Alan Bevan of Portage, six grandchildren; Melissa Bevan of Fort Atkinson, Richard Bevan of Beloit, Samantha Bevan of Janesville, Danielle (Dave) Neu of Portage, Kelly (Cody) Sierstad of Portage, Shawnya Goetz of Mauston, nine great grandchildren; Hailey, Stormey, Shelby, Madison, Kylie, Madisyn, Mercedez, Chad and Brandon and two sisters; Barbara Barret of Sworyerville, PA and Jeannie Vroman of... , brother; Ernest (Mary) Bevan of Turnhannak, PA, sister- in- law, Mary (Harold) Groce, and a brother-in-law; George Fetchko. He is also survived by many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances and his two sisters, Geraldine Fetchko and Cathie (Joe) Hebda.
A gathering will be held at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm with a service at 2:30pm in the chapel. Graveside services with military rites will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
