Richard M. Caro

Richard (Dick) M. Caro   Madison - Richard (Dick) M. Caro, age 90, of Madison, died June 4, 2009 at the Capitol Lakes Health Center.   Dick was born in New York City, the son of Irving and Lillian Caro.   He married Peggy in 1945 and had four children, Richard Jr., Cathy, Peter and Patricia.   They lived in Scarsdale, NY for 39 years before moving to Madison in 1986 to be closer to their grandchildren.   Dick and Peggy soon joined Who's New in Madison and became an integral part of many organizations and clubs.  Dick volunteered for Over 50 Employment and his condo's Board of Directors.   Dick maintained his love for the New York Yankees, watching every game throughout the season, as well as following the New York Giants football team.   He embraced all of the Madison activities and was blessed with a wide circle of friends.   Peggy and Dick enjoyed 61 years of marriage together before she died in 2006.   Dick developed a close friendship a year later with a fellow resident at Capitol Lakes, Elizabeth Durst, and remained a special friend until her death a year ago.   Dick is survived by his four children, two sons-in-law, Calvin Bruce and Steven Levine, daughters-in-law, Susan Denison and Petya Caro, and four grandchildren, Timothy Caro-Bruce, Emily Caro-Bruce, Daniel Caro Levine and Elizabeth Caro Levine.   A private memorial service will be held at a later date.   Friends are invited to stop by the Caro-Bruces' home, 710 Baltzell Street, on Sunday, June 7th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
