Richard G. Cassidy

Richard G. Cassidy, age 86, died Monday, June 28, 2010 in Deerfield.  He was born March 31, 1924, in LaCrosse, the son of Leonard and Susan (Applebee) Cassidy.  He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in the Korean Conflict, a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Cherokee Country Club where he enjoyed golfing and tennis.  Prior to Richard's retirement in 1982, he had been employed at Oscar Mayer for 44 years.  
Survivors include his special friends Jim (Barbara) Weber of Cambridge and Bill (Carol) Weber of Sun Prairie; many nieces and nephews; his sister-in-law Millie Cassidy of LaCrosse; many friends in the Oscar Mayer community and numerous other close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert and 2 sisters: Patty and Mary and a niece Susan.  
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 7 at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service.  Father Roger Nilles will officiate.
