Madison / Lodi -- Richard L. ""Dick"" Chandler, age 72 died Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at HospiceCare. He was born April 28, 1937 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of Fred and Mildred (Browning) Chandler. Dick graduated from Drake University. After he and Kathy (Mullen) were married, he joined I.B.M., where he worked for 26 years. After retiring, he and Kathy did extensive traveling, enjoying summer weekends at their cottage on Lake Wisconsin, and spending winter months in Florida. He was also a volunteer for many years at Henry Vilas Zoo and enjoyed his hunting and fishing trips. Dick was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his sons, Andrew (Rachel), Durango, CO and Ryan (Betsy), Middleton, WI, and his four little buddies, his pride and joy, grandchildren, Fiona of Durango and Megan, Emma and Luke of Middleton. The family would like to thank Dr. Glen Liu of U.W. Paul Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Clinic, Rev. Msgr. Michael Burke, Sr. Georgeann of HospiceCare and the entire staff of HospiceCare for their care and comfort provided to Dick and the family at this most difficult time. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick's name to HospiceCare, Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI, 53711 would be appreciated.
