Marshfield/Fitchburg - Richard Rothnem Chronquist, age 70, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of December 7th, 2018. Rich had been battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for nearly four years. He was a brave and stubborn fighter to the end. At the time of his death, he was in Fitchburg with his wife and dog.
Rich is survived by his wife, Patti and their dog, Izzy of Fitchburg; daughter, Sarah (Josh Hoover) of Madison, grandchildren Sage and Ashlen; and daughter, Emily (Dustin Brown) of Madison. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas, and his parents Valborg and George Clarence Chronquist of Marshfield.
Rich loved to hunt and play volleyball. He was an active member of the Ruffed Grouse Society and very involved in the Marshfield community.
Rich was an extraordinary person and a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and mentor. He will be forever remembered in our hearts and fond memories.
There will be a celebration of life held on Saturday, January 26th, 2019 at RiverEdge Golf Course 10191 Mill Creek Drive Marshfield, WI 54449. The celebration will be from 2-6pm.
A memorial fund has been set up at UW Stevens Point in Rich's name. Money from the scholarship fund will support students pursuing an education through the wildlife program. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the following Go Fund Me account which will then be given to the scholarship fund.
