Richard Allen Johnson, age 65 of Pardeville, died on Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Tomah VA  Medical Center.  He was born September 18, 1946 in Monroe to Magnus and Gladys (Winden) Johnson.  He grew up with his parents and siblings in rural Blanchardville.  He attended grade school and high school  in Blanchardville.  He served in the Marines from 1966 to 1968 receiving a Purple Heart while in duty in Vietnam.  Richard retired from the Veteran's Hospital in Madison in 2004 after 31 years of service.  He moved to Portage with his daughter and family.  He was married to Mary Sanders on August 17, 1974 for 17 years.  He enjoyed playing cards, horseshoe and fishing.   His biggest joy was spending time with his grandsons.  Richard is survived by one daughter, Robin Carlin of Pardeville; three grandsons, Luis Jr., Antonio and Cody Carlin; two sisters Marie (Larry) Berger of Orange, California and Shirley Trotter of Madison, twenty one nieces and nephews, and good friend and former wife, Mary Johnson.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Luther Johnson.  A memorial visitation will take place from 2 until 4 pm on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd  Madison, WI, followed by full military honors.
