Richard Kiesling

August 23, 1932 — December 21, 2013

Madison - Richard A. Kiesling, age 81, of Madison, Wisconsin, was born to eternal rest on Saturday, December 21st, 2013. Richard (Dick) was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. A long time resident of Racine with his wife Joyce (Eckert) Kiesling where they raised their family, Richard later retired with his loving wife Joyce to enjoy his hometown of Madison.

Richard was born on August 23, 1932, the son of Arthur and Lucille (Kuhnert) Kiesling, brother of Dolores (Kiesling) Deitrick. Throughout his years, farming has been a part of the Kiesling family and many memories were made with his parents, wife, children, sister, nieces and nephew.

A graduate of UW- Madison in January of 1955, Richard went from ROTC into service of the U. S. Army Signal Corp where he met his future wife of 58 years, Joyce (Eckert) Kiesling. Richard and Joyce were married on New Years Eve, December 31, 1955 in Roselle, New Jersey.

After military service, Richard enjoyed a long career in Racine, Wisconsin at Johnson's Wax with his friends and work colleagues until 1982 when he then became President of the Cuba City and Belmont Telephone Companies.

Richard enjoyed the activities of the phone business and was very proud to be part of the scholarship committee and help the communities in Southwest Wisconsin. Richard along with his wife Joyce found enjoyment in art and would travel both in the United States and overseas to vist museums and historical cities together. When not working or traveling, Richard enjoyed sports: golf, basketball and of course our famous Wisconsin football teams where he spent many years in the stands with family and friends.

Richard is survived by his wife, Joyce, two sons, Bob and Ron (Mary), and their four grandchildren that he was very proud of; Derek, Kalin, Alex and Sarah.
