Richard Kindschi

February 3, 1932 — August 2, 2011

Marshall--Richard Kindschi entered heaven on August 2, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Richard was born to Ralph & Celia (Mather) Kindschi on February 3, 1932 in Sumpter Township, Sauk County. He served our country in the US Army in the Korean Conflict for 2 years. Richard married Carmen Meixner on November 28, 1953. One of his favorite hobbies was to play the organ and to accompany Carmen on the marimba and singing at many churches, weddings, anniversaries and nursing homes. He also enjoyed discussing Bible passages with Bible study groups. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening & donating vegetables & popcorn to food pantries. Richard was a graduate of UW-Whitewater. He taught for over 30 years with numerous school districts, retiring from the Marshall School District after many years. Richard is survived by his wife, Carmen of Marshall, his children Greg (Cindy) Kindschi of Bozeman, MT, Pam (Tony) Amundson of Eau Claire and Becky (Brent) Foss of DeForest; grandchildren Cassandra Kindschi, Ashley (Peter) Brumley Walker-Ray stationed in Ft. Riley, KS, Natalie & Camille Foss of DeForest and Haley Amundson of Eau Claire; sisters Doris Steuber of Prairie du Sac & Kay (Bill) Mountford of Poynette; sisters-in-law Madeline Kindschi of DeForest and Wilma Meixner of DeForest and brother-in-law Bruce (Julie) Meixner of Sun Prairie. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Joshua Brumley, brother Robert Kindschi, sister Alberta (Lawrence) Meier; brothers-in-law Ralph Steuber, John Meixner & Ken (Diane) Roessler and sister-in-law Delores (Al) Stucki. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arlington United Methodist Church, 103 Reagles St., with Kathy Reid officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In addition, a reception will be held at the church after service. Memorials may be sent to Arlington United Methodist Church, the North Windsor United Methodist Church, HospiceCare, Inc. or The Salvation Army.
