Madison- Richard Kinzler, age 73, of Madison, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2011, following a brief battle with cancer. Richard was born February 16, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Richard proudly served in the Armed Forces from 1957-61. He married Mary Coffey on September 20, 1962. Richard was employed by Highway Trailer, Stoughton, and also Dairy Equipment Company until his retirement in 2001.
Richard was a talented accordion player. He was a member of Denny's Polka band and enjoyed playing music for family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching the Green-Bay Packers.
Richard is survived by his two daughters, Ann (Paul) Salzer of Minneapolis, MN;
Joan Kinzler, of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Alexandra and Sean Salzer of Minneapolis, MN; sister Dorothy (John) Franc, Pittsburg PA; and several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sister Thelma Baker and daughter, Carol Jean Kinzler. Special thanks to Michael Christian for his care and friendship.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at St Ann's Catholic Church, 323 N. Van Buren St. Stoughton, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass. Private family interment.
