Richard Dick' F. Lang, age 73 of Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born in Madison on June 9, 1935, a son of Karl and Margaret (Bertoli) Lang. Dick graduated from Stoughton High School and served his country in the Army in Germany. On January 18, 1957 he was united in marriage to Jane Ingraham in Dubuque, Iowa. Together they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. Dick worked at Uniroyal in Stoughton for 55 years. He loved his job and never missed a day there. He attended his grandchildren's sporting events no matter what the weather was, and also enjoyed golf and playing cards with friends. He was an active member of the Stoughton American Legion and the VFW. Dick was a quiet unassuming man who loved his family and showed it in his own little ways. He is survived by his wife Jane; 3 children, Laurie (Jon) Winden, Lindee, and Luann (John) Alme; 4 grand daughters, Erica (Graig) Beckstrand, Mandy (Aaron) Reznichek, Renee (J.D. Sutkay) Alme and Jenna Alme; a great grandson, Derrik Beckstrand; a brother Karl Lang; and 2 sisters, Margaret Van Weelden and Carol (Donald) Courtier. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00 am at Olson Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton with the Rev. Richard Halom officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery South, where the Stoughton American Legion Post #59 Honor Guard will perform Military Rites. Following services at the cemetery, a luncheon reception will be held at the Stoughton American Legion Hall. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and again on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Special thanks to the staff at St Mary's 5-SW.
