Richard Lowisz

Richard (Rich) Lowisz, 54, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on March 16th in the middle of the night. He was in hospice care with loved ones present in the room.

Rich graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a bachelor’s of science in electrical and computer engineering and a minor in mathematics, and went on to become a software developer. In his spare time, he loved camping, cycling, spending time with his family and dogs, anything involving power tools, taking things apart to see how they worked, and had an appreciation for craft beer before it went mainstream.

He was a kind and loving partner to his wife Mary, as well as an amazing father to their daughters Jacqueline (Jacqui) and Katherine (Kate). Rich was always looking for ways to help others and was very generous with his time.

Rich is survived by his wife Mary Minnella Lowisz; daughter Jacqueline Marie Hayes, husband Ryan John Hayes, and Rich’s grandson Jack Ryan Hayes; and daughter Katherine Rose Lowisz and husband Jeffrey Eric Rueter. Rich also leaves behind his mother, Lottie Lowisz, and brother Steve Lowisz.

The funeral will be held at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Madison on Friday, March 18 at 11:00 a.m. with short visitation starting at 10:00. They ask that in lieu of flowers, donations made in Rich’s honor go towards the Brain Injury Alliance of Wisconsin.”
