Richard L. Pierce

Richard L. Pierce, age 88, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Oak Park Place. He was born March 9, 1922 in Elkhorn, WI, the son of Leaver and Jo (Hadley) Pierce. Richard received a BS in Electrical Engineering from UW-Madison. On June 2, 1951, Richard was united in marriage with Nelda Henrickson.   He served in the Navy  in WWII and Korea.  He was a charter member of Madison West Kiwanis Club.   Survivors include 2 sons: Paul (Joanne) Pierce of Portland, OR and Allen (Katie) Pierce of Mukwonago, WI; 2 daughters: Laura (Jay) Gilbert of Crete, NE and Elise (Ray) Betz of Columbia Falls, MT; 4 grandchildren: Allen (Bethany) Gilbert of Omaha, NE, Philip Gilbert of Crete, NE, Dan Pizzutti of Boston, MA and Bob Pierce of Mukwonago, WI; 1 brother Peter Pierce of McFarland and sister-in law Jean Pierce. He was preceded in death by his wife.   A memorial service will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials in Richard's name.
