Richard Seim Jr.

March 25, 1958 — December 11, 2020

Madison- Richard E. Seim Jr., age 62, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Friday, December 11, 2020.  He was born in Pennsylvania on March 25, 1958, the son of Richard Sr. and Jane Seim.  Rich graduated from LaFollette High School in 1976 and from MATC in 1978 as an auto technician.  He retired from Famous Footwear in 2002 as a Binder Fixer.  On December 14, 2000 Rich married Diane Holm.  He was an avid WI sports fan, especially cheering for the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers.  He loved his vegetable garden, spending time fishing and hunting, and putting together models and puzzles.  Rich is survived by his wife of 20 years, Diane; stepson, Jeffrey Derke; five sisters, Suzanne (Gary) Bryant, Donna, Mary, Kathy and Nancy Seim; nieces and nephews, Angela Menehan, Jason (Tiffany) Drotos, Joseph and Jennifer Bryant; great nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Katherine Holm; sisters-in-law, Debra Holm and Donna Hilgendorf; aunt, Mary Brantmeyer; and aunts-in-law, Elizabeth Drysen and Shirley Moore.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Roy Holm.  Private services will be held.  Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens.  In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, please follow Rich’s example and do something for that special person in your life.  A special thank you to Edward McCormick for all of his help, to Warming Hands for their daily care, and to SSM Health Hospice and Wound Care and to Dr. Albert Musa for their kindness and compassion.  Please share your memories of Rich by posting on his Tribute Wall.
