Richard Seim, Sr.

Sun Prairie- Richard Earl Seim, Sr, age 82 passed away on March 18, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.é� Richard was born on October 9, 1929 in Madison, WI the son of Earl and Mary (Gilden) Seim.é� On May 22, 1954, Richard was united in marriage with Jane Freiler in Reading, PA.é� Together they raised 6 children.é� é� é� He was a veteran of the Korean War and served with the USAF. During his career, Richard was employed as a kidney transplant specialist and surgical assistant where he helped enhance and save many lives.é� He was a member of the VFW Post on Cottage Grove Road and also a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Madison.é� Richard enjoyed his family, traveling, the out of doors, gardening and video games.é� Richard is survived by his wife Jane; his children Suzanne (Gary) Bryant, Donna Seim, Richard (Diane) Seim, Jr.; Mary Seim, Kathy Seim, and Nancy Seim; grandchildren Angela (Troy), Jason (Tiffany), Joseph (Corinna), Jennifer and Jeffrey; great-grandchildren Zachary, Lucas, Isabelle, Ava, Jazzi and Jordan; his sister Mary (Ronald) Brantmeyer; his sisters-in-law Judy Seim and Edith Green; his uncle, Jack (Doris) Seim; his faithful canine companions, especially Wylee; nieces and nephews.é� He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Fritz, Gene and Joseph.é� Services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2670 Milwaukee St., Madison with Rev. Mark F. Bartels officiating.é� Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Military graveside rites will be conducted at Highland Memory Garden, Cottage Grove by the Madison Area Veterans Firing Squad.é� The family would like to give a special thank you to his granddaughter Angie, Troy and Ava, Dr. Musa, Holy Cross Ministry and Agrace HospiceCare.
