Rick (Richard David) Stratton, age 61, of Madison, died suddenly on Wednesday, December 2, 2009.  Rick was born on July 23, 1948 to Guy and Irene (Berg) Stratton in Madison, Wisconsin.  He graduated from Madison West in 1966 and attended Waldorf College in Iowa.  He was a long time Madison resident.  He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Stratton.  He is survived by his wife Kathi , son Brett, son Guy(Krysia and son Corbin), and his beloved companion Bubba Dog.  Other survivors include his mother, Irene (Stratton) Hendrickson of Madison, brother James (Ann) Stratton of Stoughton , his nephew (Kevin Strattan of McFarland), niece (Heidi Fischer of Brooklyn), and his best friend Dennis Ingham.  Rick was a kind and gentle person whose primary enjoyment was his family and his loyal canine companions.  He struggled with health issues that prevented him from continuing to hunt and fish, yet did not complain and used humor to help deal with it.   His sons were the light of his life and they both felt his unconditional love endlessly and we will all miss him dearly.  THE MEMORIAL SERVICE THAT WAS SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2009 HAS BEEN CANCELED. The family suggests that in lieu of plants and flowers, contributions be made to a memorial fund that will be established for his young son Brett at M&I Bank.  Contributions can be sent to M&I Bank at 401 N Segoe Rd, Madison, WI  53705, attn:  Guy Stratton.
