Rick Carrier

Rick R. Carrier died in the early morning hours of June 7, 2016. Rick was born, the youngest of three, on December 28, 1970 in Madison, to John L. Carrier and Ann C. (Marek) Carpenter.
Rick loved running in races around the Madison area during the 1980's. When he was 12 years old he ran the 20 mile Syttende Mai race from Madison to Stoughton. The next year he again ran the same race. Rick was on the LaFollette High School Cross Country team in Madison. He enjoyed the Arizona Cardinals football team and attended a game, with his dad, between against the Green Bay Packers on August 9, 2013. Rick loved going to Lake Kegonsa State Park to enjoy the lake and the quiet sounds of nature. As a child he loved camping, the Wisconsin Dells, Disney World and Opryland with his dad and his two sisters. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Madison.
Rick is survived by his daughter, Josephine (Terrence) McGuire; father, John L. Carrier; sisters, Tammy L. Carrier and Cindy S. (Mike) Laird; Josie's mother, Deb Sommerfeld; Josie's grandma Pat Sommerfeld; grandson, Dechlan McGuire; nephews, Christopher and Nicholas Davis; great nephews, Christian and Bennett Davis; great niece, Whitney Davis; relatives in the Green Bay area and friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Carpenter; step-mother, Karen Ledvina Carrier; granddaughter Trinity McGuire; great nieces, Tiffany Carrier; uncle, Steve Marek; grandparents John and Eldean Carrier and Robert and Irene Marek.
Private services will take place at a later date at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7291 County Hwy PD, Verona, Wis.
