Stoughton- Robert Lee Athnos, born on March 20 1932 to Edna and Louis T. Athnos of LaCrosse, WI. He graduated LaCrosse High School in 1950 at the age of 17. He attended Northwestern Bible College in St Paul, MN and San Jose Bible College in San Jose, CA. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1961. He worked in radio and television and even wrote commercials for Hamms beer. He also hosted a kids cartoon show in Las Vegas in the early 60's. He finished his career after working his dream job for eight years as the all night radio host for WNWC Christian Radio in the 80's. He was preceeded in death by his father Louis, his brothers Don and Bill, his adopted daughters Bethany, Danielle, Allyse, and Heidi, and his wife Dennise. Dennise passed away 2 weeks prior to their 50th wedding anniversary in June 2010. He passed away after many illnesses and a long fight with Multiple Sclerosis on June 30, 2011, which would have been he and his wife's 51st anniversary, one that he was destined to spend with her. As Robert loved to say, ""There are no coincidences, only co-incidents."" Robert is survived by his mother Edna (101 years old), three of his brothers: Tom (Nance), Greg (Doy) and Dave (Pauline) Athnos. He is also survived by his three children: Camille Sullivan, Elanya Athnos, and Louis (Sarah) Athnos, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Street, Stoughton, with Pastor Ron Dobie officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Lutheran Cemetery South. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services Wednesday. Robert was a dedicated follower of Christ, a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. In spite of his many disabilities, he never complained about them and lived his life to the fullest. Robert's joy and quick whit was infectious and he touched the lives of those around him. We will miss you deeply but we know we will see you again.
