MADISON- Robert L. Blank, age 84, passed away Friday, December 26, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital due to COPD and heart complications. He was born July 7, 1924, in Sauk City, WI to parents Albert and Louisa (Brillott) Blank. Bob graduated from West High School and attended the University of Wisconsin for four years. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Bob married Shirley Skews on September 13, 1973, in Madison. He was a realtor and a builder. Bob was a past Commander of the Four Lakes Yacht Club and a member of the Madison Builder's Association, the Realtor's Association, Rotary, the Elks Club and Moose Club of Madison. He was also active in the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Montello and the American Legion of Montello. Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Madison; daughter, Tana Parkinson, of Madison; sister-in-law, Marilyn Holcomb of Phillips, WI; brother-in-law, Roger Holmes, of Green Bay; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father in law; sister-in-law, Dena Holmes; and brother-in-law, Don Holcomb. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, with a visitation held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Mary's Hospital for their support and kindness. Our hearts can rest knowing you are no longer suffering and finally at peace.
