Robert A. Burdick

Robert A. Burdick, age 91, passed away Monday, August 30, 2010.  He was born May 15, 1919, in Stoughton, the son of Alonzo and Effie (Miller) Burdick.  He served in the U. S. Army from 1941 -- 1945 and was a member of the American Legion.  He worked for Gisholt in Madison and Gilman Manufacturing in Janesville.  Survivors include 3 sons"" Robert (Dolly) Burdick of Keshena, WI Gordon (Patricia) Burdick of Cambridge and Keith (Diane) Burdick of Sun Prairie; 6 grandchildren: Lindsey, Zachary, Jared (Kelly), Derek, Brett (Elizabeth) and Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Burdick and 2 great grandchildren: Kylar and Kaylee Burdick.  He was preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years, Jean, his parents, a brother Ken; 3 sisters: Thelma, Martha and Doris Schulenburg and his second wife June of 14 years.   A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 4 at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service. Military honors will be accorded by the Sun Prairie Firing Squad.   Reverend Susan Bresser will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Sun Prairie American Legion.
