Sun Prairie - Robert "Bob" J. Cipra, age 77 passed away with his loving family by his side on Thursday, May 1, 2014. He was born on March 7, 1937 in Prairie du Chein, the son of Leo and Gladys (Folbrecht) Cipra. Bob grew up in Wauzeka, moved to DeForest for three years and spent the past 22 years in Sun Prairie. Bob was a graduate of Wauzeka High School. On July 28, 1960, Bob was united in marriage to Rita Steinbach in DeForest, Wisconsin. He worked for many years with the University of Wisconsin in experimental farming until his retirement in 2000. Bob was a member of the Prairie Drifters snowmobile club in Arlington. In his younger years, he thoroughly enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. Bob loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting and fishing. His most cherished pastime was going to his cottage on Nelson Lake in Hayward. Bob is survived by his aunt; Florence Folbrecht of Stoughton, a niece; Sharon Folbrecht, a nephew; Terry (Robin) Folbrecht of Canada, three sisters-in-law; Janice (Larry) Beloungy of DeForest, Karen (Ray) LaVallee of Wyocena and Dianne Steinbach, a brother-in-law; Donald (Shar) Steinbach of DeForest, special friends; Keith (Cindy) Cottington and their children, Kevin and Craig of DeForest and Roger (Joanie) Martinson of Westport. He is also survived by many dear friends from the caf� and many loving nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Rita in 2007.
A time to gather will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm on Sunday at Wauzeka Cemetery in Wauzeka, Wisconsin.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bob's dear niece, Connie Tenjum and her family and to his neighbor, Rose for all the love and care given to Bob and our family.
