Robert E Harrison, 91, passed away Saturday evening, August 25, 2018, at Segoe Gardens in Madison.
Bob was born in Redfield, Iowa on Sept 30, 1926 to the late Kenneth and Doris Harrison. He graduated from Redfield High School in 1944 and served briefly in the US Navy before receiving a medical discharge. Bob hired out on the Milwaukee Railroad in 1944 and started his career as a fireman on steam engines and worked as an engineer out of Perry, Iowa until 1980. He was an active member of the Brotherhood of Local Firemen and Engineers. Bob and his wife then moved to Kingsville, Texas where he finished his career in 1986. In 2013, he and his wife moved to Madison, Wisconsin to be closer to family.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife Audrey, and is survived by his children son Craig, from Crandon, Wisconsin; daughter Keesia, from Madison; and son Mark, from Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren Drew and Erika Hyzer, and Nick and Laura Harrison, and six great grandchildren. He was a loving father and grandfather and a true gentleman.
Bob's interests included birding, bridge and classical music. He was an active member of every community in which he lived.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Gardens and Agrace Hospice for the loving care he received. A memorial for the family to honor Bob is pending.
