Robert E. Hughes, age 91, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in Beaver Dam.Â He was born July 26, 1918, in Rockford, IL, the son of William and Ruby (Smith) Hughes.Â Prior to his retirement in 1984, Bob had been employed by MATC.Â On July 8, 1944, Bob was united in marriage with Jeanette Abbott in Plainfield.
Survivors include 2 sons: Charles (Myrna) Hughes of Escanaba, MI and Jerry (Janice) Hughes of Fall River, WI; 1 daughter: Nancy (Gary) Vandeberg of Columbus; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great greatgrandchildren.Â He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette on September 9, 2003, his parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 6 at the CRESS FUNERAL HOMEÂ where friends may call from 1:00 pm until time of service.Â Entombment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery.
