Robert Hanson

November 21, 1945 — July 17, 2017

Stoughton - Robert J Hanson, age 71, of Rural Stoughton, died at his home on Monday July 17, 2017 surrounded by his family and special cousins. He was born in Stoughton on November 21, 1945. Graduated from Stoughton High School in 1964. Served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1969.

Robert worked as a carpenter with his family and retired from the Janesville G.M. after 30 years in 2005. Bob enjoyed training in the martial arts with longtime friends David, Karen, Richard and son Robby. Always busy working on projects, his corvette, planting trees, bird watching and fishing. He loved music, action and western movies, and having coffee and treats with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Maxine (Ramsden) Hanson.
Bob is survived by his wife Earlene (Erickson) Hanson; son, Robert Hanson (fiancé Margo Miller) both of Stoughton; sisters in law, Georgia Erickson, Terri (Rich) Stoker; niece, Ashley; nephews, Nick, Devin, and Dylan; great nieces, godchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A special thank you to Rob, Margo, Terri, Brenda, Kristie, Darlene, David, Pastor Karla, Pastor Bob, and our friends who visited and helped us care for Bob. We couldn't have done it without your love and support. Thanks to Stoughton Home Health Care, Stoughton Hospital, and Agrace HospiceCare.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Cooksville Lutheran Church, 11927 W. Church St., Evansville, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Family and friends are invited to a meal following the service in the church fellowship hall. Bob will be laid to rest at Lutheran South Cemetery in Stoughton.
