Robert Manson

WAUNAKEE/MADISON

Robert "Squirel" Manson passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Waunakee Manor with his sister Rosie at his side. He was born in Madison on July 24, 1933 the youngest of eight children to the late Warren and Margaret (Riley) Manson. He graduated from West High School Class of '51. He served with the U.S. Army in Korea from 1953-1955. He worked his entire career at the UW Agriculture School print shop. When he was younger he played a lot of softball and basketball in the city leagues.

Bob is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Omdahl and Rose Mary Lecheler and 19 nieces and nephews: Michael (Sandi) Buege, Nancy (Steve) Farmer, Randy (Ruth) Buege, Sue (Jim) Morrison, Ed (Deb) Slotten, Mary Roed, Margaret Rupert, Carolyn (Dan) Pritikin, Jim, John, Dan (Ruth), Steve, and Bob (Kendy) Fauska, Kathy Maerz, Bill, Tom, and Dave (Chris) Omdahl, Cindy (David) Herde and Laurie Lecheler. He is further survived by his great nieces and nephews and many friends especially Randy Wilson and his extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother Bill Manson, sisters Lucille Hovde, Alice Slotten, Florence Buege, and Angie Fauska, and nephew Russ Slotten.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Waunakee Manor for their loving and compassionate care for the past 13 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 2121 Rowley Ave., Madison, WI, on Monday, January 8, 2018 with Father Andrew McAlpin, O.P. Family will greet friends after 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. A luncheon will follow.
