Robert J. Marek

Robert Marek (Bob) died at his home on Lake Waubesa, McFarland, Wisconsin on October 7, 2023.  The Love of his life and best friend ever, Margit Ohrn, was at his side.  The couple had been together for over fifty years.

Bob, born May 11, 1948, was the son of Luella (Belongia) Szymarek and Joseph Szymarek.  He graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in 1969.  His profession was audio/visual technology and sales.  In that capacity, he was especially proud of solving a data retrieval problem NASA was having with the Hubble telescope.  After retirement Bob and Margit split their time between homes in McFarland and Bradenton, Florida.

Bob will always be most remembered for his clever and witty mind.  His interpretation of the world’s events was unique, his sense of humor was fueled by a vivid imagination.  Bob knew how to put a smile on anyone’s face.  He always brightened the day.

He will be greatly missed by Margit Ohrn, his sister Lory Cease, his niece Jacqueline Blaeser, his nephew David Cease, the Anderson-Staaland family of Rockford, IL, and by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
