Robert H. Meyer, Jr., age 88 went to his Eternal Heavenly Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 15, 2010. Â Robert H. Meyer, Jr. was born in Reedsburg in 1922, a son of Robert H. Meyer, Sr. and Freida (Gaetzke) Meyer. Â Robert graduated from Middleton High School in 1939 and attended the UW Wisconsin for 4 years in Economics, Business Administration, and Language. Â Robert was united in marriage to Gwendolyn (Richards) on May 3, 1946. Â Together they farmed in the Madison and Stoughton area. Â Robert was a lifetime farmer and retired in 1992. Â He served as Director and Treasurer of the Madison Milk Producers, Director and Treasurer of the Middleton Mutual Insurance Company, President of the Southern Dane AMPI Association, President of Southern Wisconsin Herd Management Coop, a Delegate to the National Milk Producers Federation, Director on the Rutland Town Board, Chairman of the Stoughton Evangelical Free Church, and a member of the Stoughton Baptist Church. Â As a hobby Robert enjoyed reading and studying prophesy. Â Robert is survived by his 5 children, Jean and Janet Meyer, Roger (Deb) Meyer, all of Stoughton, Robert III (Angie) Meyer of Lima, Ohio, and Curtis (Pam) Meyer of Oak Forest, IL; 9 grandchildren, Jason, Andy, Kenneth (Jen), David (Theresa), Sarah (Andrew) Schmitz, Jennifer (Sam) Bowersock, Kimberly, Rob IV, and Christy; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Ken) Ludeking; a sister-in-law, Mary Pitt; a nephew, Jim (Cheryl) Eberline; a niece, and Judy (Fenton) McDonald. Â Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Meyer, his parents, 3 brothers in law, Richard Eberline, Lawrence Zeltner and Bill Pitt; 2 sisters in law, Mynette Eberline and Charlene Zeltner; two nephews, Richard Dick' Everline and Tommie Pitt; and a niece, Bonnie Eberline. Â Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton with the Rev. Mark Weiss officiating. Â Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona. Â the family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
