Robert Reiser

Robert "Bob" F. Reiser passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 16th at his home. He was born on September 6th, 1935 to Robert and Jane Reiser in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin.
Bob married Shirley Bakken on August 8th, 1964. This year will mark their 50th wedding anniversary. Bob was a military veteran and served in the Intelligence Branch for the U.S. Army while stationed in Panama. He worked over 30 years for the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation. In 1971, he also began cooking hot dogs for the UW Club and continued this for 36 years. He is credited for inventing the famous hot chocolate making machine.
One of Bob's many passions in life was to fish. He could be found year-round fishing Wisconsin's streams, rivers and lakes. Besides fishing, Bob was an avid animal lover and when at home he could always be found with a beloved animal next to his side.
Bob is survived by his wife Shirley; daughters, Marcy (Tylan) Miller of Phoenix, AZ and Kristie (EJ) Chijimatsu of Madison, WI; two granddaughters, Mackenzie and Kate Miller; twin sisters Sallie (Jim) Jay and Susan (Pat) Noethe; and many aunts, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents; grandson Noah James Chijimatsu.
Funeral services will be held on Tues. Jan. 21, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave. Middleton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tues. from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A gathering celebrating Bob's life will be held immediately following the services in the fellowship area of the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Roselawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family will designate a memorial at a later date.
