Robert A Viken passed away on February 11, 2011. Bob was born to Alf and Thelma (Swiggum) Viken in Madison, WI on August 25, 1936. He was raised in Cottage Grove, WI and attended Cottage Grove grade schools. He attended East High School and then in his senior year he went to Westby High School where he graduated in 1954. After graduation he began work for The Democrat Printing Co (Webcrafters Printing Inc). In 1959 he was drafted into the Army for 2 years being stationed in Germany. After his discharge he returned to Webcrafters to work until his retirement in 1999. Â Bob was married to Barbara (Bobbie) Karow on March 7, 1959. Bob is survived by his wife Bobbie; a son William A Viken and wife Melissa. Grandchildren Christian and Katie and great-grandchild Lily. He is also survived by a daughter Christina Marie Viken-Harvey and husband Dan. Grandchildren Patsy, Molly, David, Jenny and Sophie. He is further survived by his two brothers and best friends. Donald ( Sharon) Viken and Thomas (Lynda) Viken. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Alf and Thelma Viken. Bob was granted one last pleasure when we enjoyed the Super Bowl game on February 6 and watched as the Packers prevailed. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 11:00 am at Hope Lutheran Church, 3702 Cty Hwy AB, rural McFarland with the Reverend Chris Lee-Thompson officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until time of service and following the service a lunch will be served. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Relay For Life for Cancer Research in Bob's memory.
