Robin (Riley) Snowden passed away peacefully with her husband Jon at her side, having been able to say goodbye and I love you to close family and friends over two days.  She left us to be with God on February 7th, 2023 at UW Hospital, 600 Highland Avenue, Madison WI.  Robin was born July 15th, 1961 in Toledo, OH.  Her family moved to Bloomingdale, IL where she and her younger sisters attended grade school.  The family moved to Pennsylvania where she attended 7th grade through her junior year in high school in Allen Town having been elected Vice President of her Junior class before moving to Madison for her senior year at Edgewood High School.  Robin participated in cheerleading and other extra-curricular activities graduating class of 1979. She attended UW Madison and tended bar for a couple years at the KK on Lake Street and then at the Wonder Bar.

Robin moved to Florida then California where she started a career in Hotel and Conference Center Management becoming the Rooms Division Manager at what is now the Double Tree Hilton Resort and Conference Center at the very young age of 23.

Robin moved to Madison and became the Operations Manager at the Radisson Inn and Conference Center in 1987 where she met her husband.  They were married in 1990, then she worked for UW-Madison in the Department of Information Technology for 20 years.

Robin developed an exceptional talent for extremely detailed needle point specializing in Christmas works that raised the craft to works of Art.

Robin will be remembered by those who knew her as one of the kindest, most empathetic individuals one could meet, always able to put herself “in other’s shoes,” and making the best of difficult circumstances with humor and compassion.  Her greatest contributions to others were the many times she guided or comforted friends, co-workers, and employees. Robin shared much of her personality through her sense of humor and very infectious laugh that was frequently heard no matter where she went.

Robin leaves behind her parents, John and Lynn Riley of Waunakee, her sisters Karyn (Riley) Dearth Blanchardville (Larry); Randi (Riley) Antolini, Waunakee (Vincent); Lisa (Riley) Zukowski, Waunakee (Don); numerous nephews, grand-nephews, nieces and grand-nieces; her father-in-Law Terence J. Snowden and her husband’s siblings, Gail Snowden of Madison, Annette (Snowden) Canfield, CO; Dr. Terese Snowden of Loveland, Colorado and Mark Snowden of Madison.
