Rodney Orr

Kiowa, Colorado - Rodney “Rod” K. Orr, 68, passed away on October 15th, 2021, after losing his valiant battle with a lifetime of complications of Diabetes.

Rod was born on January 21st, 1953, to Don and Bonnie Orr in Madison, WI. After losing his eyesight in his 20’s, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1982. He accomplished his goal with the tireless efforts of his seeing eye dog, Gypsie. With the help of medical intervention from the University of Wisconsin, Rod regained his eyesight shortly before he received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 1995. In 2015, he retired from his 26-year career as a Regulatory Specialist for the State of Wisconsin. He and his wife, Senna, accomplished their lifelong dream of moving near the mountains to Kiowa, CO.

Rod is survived by his loving wife, Senna Orr (Kiowa, CO); Granddaughter, Brianna (Eric) Ingman, and 4 Great Grandchildren (Muscoda, WI); His parents, Don and Bonnie Orr (Madison, WI); Siblings, Dennis (Sue) Orr (Blanchardville, WI), Kathy Thompson (Brockville, Ontario), David (Ann) Orr (Middleton, WI), and Bryan (Tracey) Orr (Crystal Lake, IL). He is further survived by many other family members, of whom he held near to his heart.

A memorial gathering will be held at Cress Funeral and Cremation Services, 6021 University Ave. Madison, WI 53705, on Monday, November 22nd, 2021, from 11:00am-2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or the American Kidney Fund.
