Roger D. Breunig

Roger D Breunig age 61, of Waunakee passed away surrounded by loved ones after a 21 month battle of stage 4 Gallbladder Cancer 08/12/2023. He was born on January 17, 1962. The son of Ronald and Elaine Breunig. He married Mary Middleton on September 10, 1994. Roger started his driving career with Batz sanitation, he ended his 30+ year career with Waste Management as a roll off driver.  He was a dedicated, hard worker his entire life. Roger was just as dedicated to his family and friends as he was his career.  Roger was raised on a farm in Roxbury and relocated to the family farm in Waunakee.  As a child he enjoyed farming and going to tractor pulls with his dad and siblings. As a young adult he enjoyed  pulling  his own souped up garden tractor and the passion continued to watch others up until his final months of his cancer fight. He also found great joy in having a clean work and personal truck.  He enjoyed listening to country music and watching Nascar on Sundays.  Roger loved traveling in his later years, his special place was Ocean Isle Beach, NC. He enjoyed his final trip there in the summer of 2022 with his family, He loved his toes in the sand, listening to the ocean and being carefree. Roger’s greatest compassion was his daughter, Ashley and grandson Benson.  Roger was a very influential part of Benson’s life. He was a father figure, best friend and best grandpa. He enjoyed watching Benson play baseball and attended every game he could. He also enjoyed spending time with his chosen granddaughter, Kinsley. The Breunig Family would like to acknowledge Ashley for the love, care and compassion through the years of taking care of our son/brother throughout his journey. We will forever hold you close to our hearts, love and miss you terribly. We know you fought so hard for all of your family/friends, but now it is time for you to be at peace and pain free.
