Roger Olson

Stoughton- Roger A. Olson, age 70, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011. He was born on March 26, 1941, the son of Sigurd and Hazel Olson. On August 5, 1957 Roger married Janice Swalheim. Roger was a house painter in the Stoughton area and was affectionately known as Ole. He enjoyed spontaneous trips out West and spending time with his family. Roger is survived by his devoted daughter, Christy (Gary) Duerst; son, Richard (Char); three grandchildren, Justin (Natasha) and Matt (Megan) Iverson and Melissa (Matt) Nummerdor; seven great grandchildren, Austin, Bo, Sami, Brooke, Natalie, Cassie and Drew; brother, Sigurd Olson, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Janice, on Oct. 25, 1993; three infant children; siblings, Lorraine Femrite, LaVerne Olson, Herbie Olson and Patricia Thorpe; and his beloved canine companion, Charlie. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with Rev. Scott Geister-Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery South. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon at the Stoughton VFW following the burial. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Tuesday.
