Madison/Deerfield- Roger W. "George" Pohlman, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Watertown on November 10, 1949, the son of Charles and Helen (Tester) Pohlman. Roger graduated from Deerfield High School in 1967, and from UW-Madison in 1971. Roger lived in Chicago and retired from the Social Security Administration. He loved the Badgers, Cubs, and Packers. Roger is survived by four siblings, Robert (Karen), Virginia (Glenn) Kassube, Russell (Jenny), and Mary Pohlman; sister-in-law, Carolyn; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gerald. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Cress Funeral Home in Deerfield, with Rev. Ken Pennings officiating. Burial will follow in Kroghville Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon reception, following the burial, at the Deerfield Community Center. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until the time of services Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or donate online at:
