Madison - Roger Williams, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home on October 10, 2009. He was born on January 31, 1920, to Earl and Clara Williams, and was the youngest of 7 children. He was a veteran of World War II and served his county in the infantry in the South Pacific.On return from the service Roger worked as a railroad mail clerk for many years. When the mail train service ended, he managed two post office branches in Minneapolis.After retiring from the post office, he was a real estate agent in Minneapolis.Roger is survived by his wife, Peg; three daughters; Joyce (Mike) Scott, Donna (Larry) Litecky, and Patricia (Guy Perez) Williams; daughter-in-law, Janis Williams; five grandchildren, Della Scott, Rachel (Joey) and Sara Litecky, and Maia and Elena Perez; his sister, Josephine Knight; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; his parents; three brothers and two sisters. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at Hospice Care. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care Inc, or Our Lady Queen of Peace. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 South Owen Drive, Madison. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace. May you always walk in sunshine and God's love around you flow. For the happiness you gave us, no one will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. A part of us went with you, the day God called you home. A million times we've needed you, a million times we've cried. If love could have saved you, you would have never died.
