Roland DuPuis

Madison - Roland L. ""Rollie"" DuPuis, age 82, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011. He was born on October 25, 1928 to Edmund J. DuPuis and Theodora E. Leonard in Baraboo, WI.. He graduated from Baraboo High School in 1949 and received his bachelors degree from Wisconsin State College at Platteville in 1954. He served in the US Army from 1954-56 and was stationed in Germany. He retired from Badger Welding Supplies in Madison as Vice President of Administration. Rollie enjoyed several outdoor activities and was especially fond of fishing in the North Woods of WI. He was a skilled wood worker and created many pieces treasured by his family. In his later years, he enjoyed making bird houses and fishing lures. Rollie also enjoyed attending UW Hockey games. He is survived by Nola (Geisser), his wife of 56 years; his children Gregg (Lori), Mark (DiAnna), Lisa (John) Feiereisen, Amy (Tony) Duchac; grandchildren Sarah (Mike) Henke, Erin (Taylor) Rose and Kristen DuPuis, Jenny and Ryan DuPuis, Anna, Laura and Olivia Feiereisen, Jacob and Lucy Duchac; sisters Mary, Jeanne, Joanne; brothers Duane and half-brother David; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Edmund Jr .and LaVern, half-sister Patricia, and step-mother Alice. Funeral services will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 11am. Visitation will be held at the funeral home at 10am until the time of the service. A private burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Baraboo, WI at a later date. Memorials may be made to Capitol City Chapter of Muskies, Inc., to support the stocking of muskies in the Madison Chain of Lakes.
