Ronald Berge

Deerfield - Ronald "Buster" G. Berge, age 81, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. He was welcomed to the world on July 18, 1934 in Madison, WI by his proud parents, Russel and Ann (Hagen) Berge.

On August 1, 1959, he married the love of his life, Delores Melvin, in Deerfield. They spent the next 56 years together, raising their beautiful family and watching them thrive. When Ron's mom passed away, Aunt Evelyn "Nanum" Berge became a central figure in his life and an important role model to the
family.

As an electrical engineer, Ron worked for 32 years at Oscar Mayer's, even continuing to consult for the company after retiring. Retirement wasn't all work, however--he spent much of his time in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, riding his mule and enjoying the weather. The rest of the time he spent following NASCAR and cheering his Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Deerfield Home Talent.

He is survived by his wife 56 years, Delores Berge; two daughters, Marcie (William) Tomlinson and Maureen (Frank) Pacocha; grandchildren Dannon (Naomi) Haas, Michelle (Dave) Pulvermacher; great grandchildren, Savannah and Logan Haas, and Charlie Pulvermacher; two brothers, Mike (Sherry Rabas) Berge, Richard (Sharon) Berge; and many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his Aunt Evelyn Berge.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Cress Funeral Home, 201 Bue St., Deerfield. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon immediately following the service at The Rail House in Deerfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Agrace in Madison, who showed such compassion for Ron's family, especially Kristi and Karen.
