Ronald Engle

McFarland- Ronald D. Engle, age 74, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Agrace HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. He was born in Freeport, IL on February 19, 1938 the son of Robert and Elaine (Evans) Engle. Ron attended Brodhead schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1955 until 1958 and was stationed in Japan for 2 years. On August 2, 1959 Ron married Karen Brandenburg in Brodhead. He started his working career cutting meat for his father before and after school and retired as a meat manager after 42 years working at various locations. Ron enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities. Many hours were spent socializing with his coffee buddies. Ron was a member of Door Creek Church, McFarland American Legion Edwards-Foye Post 534, Doric Masonic Lodge No. 356 and TAC Tankers Association. He is survived by his wife, Karen; four children, Tim (Cindy) of Monroe, Teri (John) Cheramy and Tami (Mike Wienke) Bauhs, both of McFarland, and Thad (Amy) of Footville; 12 grandchildren, Melissa and Elizabeth Field, Krista (Brock) Roder, Kyle and Austin Cheramy, Corey and Mackenzie Bauhs, Carson Wienke, Erin, Tobias, Aiden and Dwayne Engle; three great grandchildren, Braylan and Ava Roder and Makayla Field; brother, Gary; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Cody Engle; and sister-in-law, Beverly Engle. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Door Creek Church, 6602 Dominion Drive, Madison, followed by full Military Honors. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a Military Pass in Review at 5:00 PM, on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Cress Funeral Home in McFarland.
