Ronald Lee Knutson

June 28, 1946 — April 14, 2009

Sun Prairie-Ronald Knutson, age 62, died on April 14, 2009 at HospiceCare Center due to brain cancer. God's Garden God looked through his garden And He found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth And saw Ron's tired face. He put His arms around him, And lifted him to rest. God's garden must be beautiful He only takes the best. He knew that Ron was suffering, He knew that he would never get Well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb. So He closed Ron's weary eyelids And whispered, ""Peace is Thine"". It broke your heart to lose him But he did not go alone, For part of you went with him, The day God called him home. Ron was born on June 28, 1946 in Rice Lake, the son of Harold and Georgia (Gebhardt) Knutson.  He and his sister Carol were raised on a farm in Rice Lake.  He was active in 4H and was a heavyweight wrestler all through high school.  Ron graduated from UW-River Falls and taught agriculture and was the head wrestling coach in Plymouth.  In 1973, he married Nancy St. John and moved to Portage where Ron taught agriculture and again was the head wrestling coach at Pardeeville.  Both Ron and Nancy loved animals and bought 20 acres in the country and ended up with 20 ewes, 1 goat, 2 dogs and 5 cats.  He loved and cherished two women in his life, his beautiful and talented daughter, Kristina, from a previous marriage, and his devoted wife Nancy.  Ron and Nancy move to Sun Prairie in 1992 where Ron worked at Hanley's and Famous Footwear and Nancy worked at GTE. Ron loved gardening and landscaping.  He was also an avid reader and loved his cats. Ron is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter Kristina Rehling (Muryl) of Rice Lake; sister Carol (Paul) Greisen of Spring Green; nieces Elena Dummer, Pamela (Pete) Cary and Angela (Bill) Borne; grand-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.  Ron was preceded in death by his parents.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 300 Broadway Drive, Sun Prairie. A video will be shown at 12:30 celebrating Ron's life.  A luncheon will follow the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to HospiceCare.   Cress Funeral & Cremation Service 1310 Emerald Terrace Sun Prairie (608) 837-9054
