Ronald Menick

Sun Prairie - Ronald Leroy Menick, age 82, passed away on April 7, 2013 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. Ronald was born on May 6, 1930 in Waukesha, WI the son of Clarence and Agnes (Kowalski) Menick. Ronald married his wife of 58 years, Betty on July 3, 1954 in Washington D.C. Ronald served his country and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1971 after 21 years of service and was a veteran of the Korean War. He later worked and retired from the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Ronald was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Sun Prairie and Knights of Columbus 2nd and 3rd degree member, and a past Post Commander at Sun Prairie VFW 9362. Ronald enjoyed helping at the VFW and coached YMCA flag football. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Sun Prairie; 4 daughters, Patricia Menick (Gary Anderson) of Pittsburgh, PA, Teresa (John) Matthews of Salt Lake City, UT, Lisa Menick of Portage, Mary Ann Menick (Tony Dollak) of Sun Prairie; one son, Dennis (Daniela) Menick of Toano, VA; 6 grandchildren, John, John Aaron, Allison, Donovan, Trevor and Dustin and two great grandchildren, Ryan and Elizabeth. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Sun Prairie VFW #9362. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 221 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie WI on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Msgr. Terry Connors will celebrate. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie WI from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, where at the conclusion of the visitation we will proceed to the church to start Mass. Burial will conclude at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. Luncheon to follow at Cress Funeral Home.
