Ronald H. Stark, long time resident of Cross Plains area passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2011 at his home. He was born in Patterson, New Jersey on June 20, 1938 the son of the late Harry and Marjory (Briglidoero) Stark. Ron graduated Summit High School in 1956. He moved to Madison to finish his education in Electrical Engineering in 1958 and at that time was also enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was united in marriage to Barbara Pratt in 1961. Ron and Barb enjoyed camping with their Girl Scout troop, canoeing and skiing. He was a volunteer at the Hoard Curtis Arboretum and also spent many hours restoring his glacial edge prairie to its original pristine beauty. He was employed at the University of Wisconsin in Tebecular Research with Dr. Don Smith. Following his retirement from the University, Ron worked for Queen Anne's Catering (West Side Businessmen's Club); he recently retired after 20 plus years. He considered Bill Berg and Jim Bresette more than employers, but rather good friends and family.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife Barbara-recently celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary; daughters, Judy (David) Kerl of Mineral Point and Diana Stark of El Cajon, CA; grandchildren, Joshua Kerl of Livingston and Danielle Kerl of Mineral Point.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Cress Funeral Service, 6021 University Ave., Madison. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UW Cardiovascular Research Center.
