MADISON-Ronald Lee Wagner (Ron), age 71, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth, WI. He was born on January 27, 1952, in Madison, the son of Otto and Mildred (Schneider) Wagner. As the youngest of eight children, he grew up “fed, cared for, and loved.” He was looked after by his two sisters and got into mischief with his five big brothers. He worked a variety of skilled trade and mechanical careers. Ron enjoyed the outdoors - hunting, fishing, and summer picnics with his family at state parks. His biggest love was for his three daughters and four grandkids.
Ron is survived by his daughters, Makalah (Tyson) Wagner, Alexis (Justin) Haack, and Alicia (Nate) Mohr; his four grandchildren Vivian, Conrad, Clayton, and Miles; and his beloved cat, Gizmo. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Harold (Patricia) Wagner, Alice (Conrad) Doering, Rosemary (Dan) Lange, Robert (Lisa) Wagner and sisters-in-law, Esther Wagner and Ruth Wagner; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, William, Otto, and Fred Wagner. His daughters will be hosting a celebration of Ron’s life - drop in at The American Legion, 2217 American Legion Dr., Cross Plains between 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
His daughters would like to thank the staff at UW Carbone Cancer Center and Agrace Hospice who provided care and compassion to Ron during his illness.
