Rose Washington

Madison - ROSEMARY WASHINGTON, age 86 of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday January 2, 2012.

She was born on August 26, 1925 in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Robert L. Jones and Mattie M. Jones (David) Thornton. From her marriage to Theodore A. Washington I she bore four children.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her father and mother; her step-father David Thornton; ex-husband Theodore Asa Washington I, brother Eugene (Lynn) Jones, son Theodore Washington II, step-daughters Victoria Washington Carlyle and Kimberly Washington, and her cousin Maxine Trotter.

Rosemary leaves to cherish her memory her children Eugene (Nancy) Washington of Madison, Roslynn Washington of Milwaukee, Lydia White of Madison, and step-daughters Stephanie Washington and Suzanne Washington of Milwaukee. She was "Nana" to twelve surviving grandchildren: Althea Washington, Kelli Jo (Kenneth) Sothard, Theodore Washington III, Carmen White, Connie (Antonio Colla) Washington, Debbra "D.J." Washington, Yvonne Linton, Kimberly (Hector) Cortes, Sean Washington, Corey Washington, Keenan Washington, and Erin Washington; 16 great-grandchildren; and several others in her extended family.

To honor her wishes, all services will be private.

No time on earth is long enough to share with those we love or to
