Madison - Roselind Johnson, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at her place of employment. She was born on October 6, 1968 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Bettye and Frederick Johnson.
She was married to Bonita Brooks on October 10, 2010 in Dubuque, Iowa. She was a devoted mother of five children and grandmother of 13. Roselind spent the majority of her life as a writer. She has spent the majority of her life as a writer for the Madison College while obtaining her degree in journalism. She was currently employed through WPS of Madison. Proudly she was working on her latest project, which was a book written for young African American Women. Roselind enjoyed reading documentary movies and spending her weekends with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her 5 children,DeWayne Johnson, Bettye (Rasaki Sr.) Emmanuel, Tanisha Johnson, Malencia Johnson, and Mania Johnson; 13 grandchildren; Dewayne, DeShaun, Nyjua, Nasier, Kasar, Rasaki Jr., Kas'yr, Morris III, Jah-miah, Kyauri, Zakauri, Zauri, and Zylah , brother, Frederick Johnson and their families and cousin Vera McEwen.
Roselind was preceded in death by her mother Betty Johnson, grandson Kasar, sister Rosella Johnson and father Frederick Johnson.
Private family services were held.
