STOUGHTON - Roxanne L. Nelson, age 69, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. She was born in Eau Claire on January 28, 1947, the daughter of Ernest and Leona (Gifford) Peterson. Roxanne graduated with the class of 1965 from North High School in Eau Claire. She then relocated to the Madison area where she started a family and settled on beautiful Lake Kegonsa in Stoughton. Roxanne worked more than 25 years for the State of Wisconsin, and took great pride in serving as a liaison for the Senate and Supreme Court in the restoration of the south and east wings of the State Capitol. Beyond her love and passion for her family, Roxanne was an avid collector of beautiful antique pieces, with a particular passion for antique linens. Roxanne is survived by her spouse, Dr. Ross Royster; son, Troy (Susie Goette) Nelson of Sauk Prairie; daughter, Britt (Jeff) McNamee of Salem, OR; brother, Jack (Judy) Peterson of Chetek; sister, Karen (Darryll) Farmer of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Ruby and Simon McNamee, and Fisher and Dayton Goette; as well as several nieces and nephews. Roxanne was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Ava McNamee. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 206 W. Prospect St., Stoughton. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
