Madison-Ruby E. Hubbard, age 95, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. She was born on January 9, 1915 in Mt. Horeb the daughter of Theodore & Lillian Helleckson. Ruby was united in marriage to her husband of 62 years Juel E. Hubbard on May 5, 1934 and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1996. She was a longtime active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Madison. She first worked in sales and then was a longtime employee of the State of Wisconsin working at the University of Wisconsin as a telephone operator. In her spare time she enjoyed volunteering, playing cards, knitting, doing craft projects but mostly she enjoyed being around people especially her family which she took great pride in. Ruby is survived by her children, Robert (Shirley) Hubbard, Waukesha, Rob (Laurie) Hubbard, North Carolina and Jean (James) Bystol, Windsor; grandchildren, Nicole (Jeff) Kritch, Brandon (Joellen) Bystol, Troy (Kristy) Bystol, Brian (Laura) Hubbard, Brad, Darcy, Chad, Debbie, Kelly, Dawn & Chad; 14 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Katie Helleckson; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Jeffrey Hubbard, brothers, Burnett, Palmer, Carmen & Duane, and sister, Laurene. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 322 E. Washington Ave., with Reverend Ken Smith officiating. Burial will be held in Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Special thinks to dear friends Stacy & Kathy, HospiceCare and Parkside Assisted Living. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to HospiceCare. Ruby was a very loving & caring person. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
